Camera Strap Tutorial

If you're like me, you like things to have a little pizazz, and no plain black strap will do for you!  Let's take a few and go over the camera strap tutorial...

Materials Needed:
-Piece of fabric 40 inches by 4.5 inches. This can go shorter, longer, wider, or thinner based on your preference.
-Vinyl for the end pieces
-Iron-on interfacing
-2 "toy sized" dog collars

1. Cut your materiel and iron it down the middle

2. Cut your interfacing into two long strips, about 40 inches by slightly less than 2 inches, and iron them onto the back of the fabric
 3. Take your collars off of their package and if you feel like it, use a seam ripper to take it apart. Or, be lazy like me and just cut them so they lay flat...
... like this...

keep all the hardware from the collar.  You'll need the sliders for later, and you can probably use the other parts for a different project.

4. If you have a serger, serge all down the sides and top.  Don't worry if you don't have one, just skip this step.

5. Iron over the seams on both sides

6. Fold your fabric over and sew all down one side, then repeat on the other

7. Cut four pieces of vinyl in this shape:

8. Take two pieces of your shaped vinyl, right sides together and sandwich one of the collars in between them, leaving about half an inch hanging out of the tapered side. Sew the vinyl and collar together, leaving the top portion open

9. Turn your vinyl/collar piece right side out and plug the strap into the vinyl. Sew them together

10. Repeat on the other side

You're done! Go put that baby on your camera!
